Disappearing Toes

As the weeks have gone by, the belly has gotten larger and my toes have disappeared.

The Truth about Baby Clothes...

I have always loved baby clothes. When friends or relatives have had babies in the past, clothes are the first thing I have shopped for. They make cute adult clothes in mini sizes and they are just irresistible! But at the same time there are some baby clothes that are just plain tacky. Little babies don't need to be tacked up with lace and slogans, if I wouldn't wear the outfit or print in a million years then I don't want it on my mini me.

To show more accurately what I can not stop buying and what I would never buy take a look below:

Loves: Polka dots, bright colors, animal prints, hoodies and sweet cotton dresses

Not so loved: Sateen, lace, slogans, "I love......" prints, embellished jeans, character clothing

For Blake

Dear Baby Girl,

This week we reached the half way point. In just under twenty weeks you will be here with us. The past twenty have flown by, so I have no doubt the next twenty will as well.

I have really started to feel you move in the past few days and your little punches, kicks and flips make all of this so much more real. With every flutter I can imagine your tiny feet learning to walk and your sweet hands reaching out for mine. With each grasp and step you open up a world of possibility. There is no limit to what you can do. I can hear your laugh and picture your smile as you play with Jackson and Peli. I can hear your voice as you tell your dad a story. I can feel your touch as you climb onto my lap to read a book. And that's only in the first few years of your life.

I get choked up thinking about holding you in my arms. I have so so much love to give you and so much to share with you. I want to show you how to cook and how to savor the sweeter things in life. I want you to learn to swim almost before you can walk. I want you to breath a sigh of relief when you see the ocean and feel the sun on your skin. I want to show you how to bait a hook and reel in a fish and to enjoy the time it takes to catch the big one. I want to teach you to read and how to get lost in a book. I want to see you giggle over puppy kisses and embrace the time spent with friends. I want to let you know its ok not to listen to what we have to say all the time, but to have the grace to admit your faults. I want to help you understand and appreciate a good game of college football and to learn the Gator chomp is an appropriate response in almost any situation. I want to show you how amazing your family is, how your dad has the biggest heart of any man I know (with the possible exception of my dad), and how my mom is my best friend and that I want that for us one day. I want to introduce you to all the adventures this world has to offer and that a boat ride can cure most ailments. I want you to see that there is nothing that should stop you from achieving your dreams. I want you to experience the joy of singing at the top of your lungs no matter how good or bad it sounds. I want you to see that it is ok to be wrong and to be humble when you are right. I want you to always care, and to know that helping others is the greatest thing you can do. I want you to know that I will teach you, guide you, protect you and help you whenever you need. And most importantly I want you to know that I will always love you.

You are what I have always wanted and while I know the rest of this pregnancy will go quickly, I also know I will be anxiously awaiting the day you are in our lives and in my arms.

Blake Emme Brewer I love you, I love you, I love you.

Lots of love and kisses,
Mom

Baby Brewer on Board!

On Wednesday, October 5th, 2011 I peed on a stick. Yep I said it. And I held that stick in my hand and watched a tiny pink plus sign appear!

After hyperventilating for a few minutes I ran downstairs and shoved that pee stick with a plus sign in Chris's face. After he woke up and pulled himself off the ground we went to buy a second test. And that one straight up said "Pregnant"!!

Chris was equally as excited this time around.

At 6 weeks and 6 days we went to the doctor and got see our little nugget (henceforth known as BB 'Baby Brewer'). It kind of looks like a gummy bear.

At our appointment we were told that BB will be arriving on or around June 12, 2012! June babies are the best :) (Speaking from personal experience.)

And now for some belly shots:
 5 weeks

11 weeks
(sorry for the terrible quality of photo, blame the Blackberry)

We can not wait to meet this little thing and in 6 months or 28 weeks or just 2 short trimesters we will!
