Blake Emme- Month 14

Dear Blake E. B.,

You are a women on the move this month!

While you've been able to climb stairs for a few months now, it now appears to be the only thing you want to do! While you can go up, you have yet to figure out the down...

You also took your first steps!!! While we can't say you are walking, you are definitely heading in that direction!

You celebrated your second 4th of July with a parade and fireworks. You loved waving at the people passing by and were enthralled by the booms and bangs and bright lights shooting in the sky.

You also got to enjoy an ice cream cone, that you held all by yourself.

Mommy's friend Caroline came in town to play and while it was a bit too hot for her pregnant belly to do much we still had a great time!

We also did some traveling at the end of the month with a flight to Tampa, where we spent a week with  Gigi and Big H. This was your 11th and 12th flight (I think!) and while you have given up on sleeping during flights you are still a good little traveler!

After our time in Tampa you took your first long car trip, 8 hours to Charlotte, and while you did not love it, you did better than expected!

You are still a fun little eater, loving sweets and carbs the best but starting to enjoy tomatoes, carrots and roasted red peppers....We'll take what we can get.

And you have figured out a fork and can sometimes get the stuff on a spoon into your mouth.

You have also started talking more and more and are saying plenty of words including bottle, love you, dog, hello, hi, strawberry, cup and shoe. You also make plenty of animal sounds including woof and click, click, click (in your mind the sound a horse makes).

You love waving hi and bye to people and will signal "come here" to the dogs when they are out of your reach. Which is often because while you love them more and more, they could stand for a bit more space.

You give us the best looks, questioning with your eyes, wondering where things are with your hands and frown and going "oh!" when you are surprised or excited.

You had your second ear ache, but were a champ through it all!

We loved playing with you this month. Watching you take your first steps, kicking away in the pool, and testing out so many new words. You are such a joy in our lives and each day is a new and exciting adventure. We love you so much sweet girl!

Love,
Mom and Dad

Happy 4th of July!
